I'm Concerned Because I'm a Filipino

By Romeo Mataac, Jr.Tuesday, September 21, 2010OFW, Pinoy No comments

To the Hongkong and PRC People,

You hate the Filipino people for the hostage fiasco that unfortunate incident that went out of control at the end. This was a hostage situation that was under control and which netted 7 Chinese tourists to be released upon the efforts of our policemen.

You appear and sound sanctimonious and have even stepped upon our sovereignty. You have demanded apology, the moon and the heavens. You hate the Filipino people as if we wanted this unfortunate incident to happen. First and foremost, we offer our condolences to the families of the 8 that were killed in this incident. Secondly, we are sorry for the bungled handling of this hostage taking. It was unfortunate, it was an accident, we never planned it that way. Is it fair to blame a whole nation for a situation that was never planned?

Let me ask you this question, "Should we hate you also for the lead poisoning caused by the paint you used in your baby furniture and toys for the children of the world, Should we hate you also for the use of cardboard in the "siopao" that you sell to tourists? Should we hate you also for the melamine contamination wherein not 8, but hundreds, maybe even thousands have suffered and some even died?

Visiting an Angel in Liliw, Laguna

By Romeo Mataac, Jr.Tuesday, August 31, 2010Avenue, Leisure No comments

St. John the Baptist Parish Church, best known simply as Liliw Church, is a lovely destination in the town. Founded in 1605, this Baroque-style church has a red faƧade whose color came from the bricks it was built of. The church that stands today is a product of several architectural improvements done by the parish priests of yesteryear's.

Meeting with Mr. Eli J. Obligacion

By Romeo Mataac, Jr.Tuesday, October 27, 2009 No comments
Si G. Eli J. Obligacion, Direktor at Pangulong Tagapagtatag ng Teatro Balangaw at kasalukuyang consultant ng Office of the Provincial Governor-Province of Marinduque.

Erap's Prayer

Filipinos creativity once more...

Erap's Prayer

Gambling father

who art in jueteng

hakot be thy name

thy kickback come

thy wealth be done,

in Wack-Wack as it is in San Juan .

Give me this day

My daily bribe

And conceal all my sins

As I conceal those who sin along with me

And if I am Led into temptation

Deliver me from criticism

For mine is the country,

its power, and its money

forever and ever. Amen.

Response:

Aba Ginoong Estrada

Erap's Mi ultimo Adios

Mi parte de jueteng wala na.

Mis compadres y lords nabuking na.

Los mansiones de mis queridas ini-imbistiga

Mis amigos de la Camara el ultimo
