"LIVELIHOOD PROJECTS FOR YOUNG AND OLD"

By Romeo Mataac, Jr.Friday, October 31, 2008 2 comments

By Mr. TONY R. MONTERAS
OFW, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
October 29, 2008, 02:50:30 AM

Sad to learn that our beloved province from past generations to the present has been classified as a 4th Class Province in our archipelago of more than seven thousand (7107) islands. Every Marinduqeno who knows about this will surely think of something that would perhaps enable him to raise a finger and re-activate his somewhat resting-mind. As SAKAMAR (Samahan ng mga Kabataang Marinduqueno) says, "Marinduqueno saan mang dako ng mundo", in our hearts, in our minds and in our spirits, it somehow rings the bell, right? So, it would be realistic in sense should we start our pace towards what it might be called "A Progress Whisper".

I know that some of us are still adamant to move or cooperate nonetheless, no one should blame anyone. We should avoid throwing or dumping our dirts to other's pit.

Nakakatawang-nakakainis pero, we can't blame them on their mentalities dahil sila itong nakakaranas ng impact. Totoong ang isang tao, kapag nagiging underdog sa laban (siya'y tila sundalong kapag nasusugatan eh lalong tumatapang) he will do everything in his power to overcome his opponent. Kung baga, ang katwiran ng ibang nagagalit sa bumato sa kanila, "okay, lalagyan ko ng palaman ang tinapay na ibinalibat niya sa akin, pero hindi keso, hindi bacon at lalong hindi hamon, ang aking ipapalaman kundi, blade or dinurog na bubog ............. where and when this thing shall end?

Now, we see the big difference in this reasoning power. It only indicates na dapat lang na maging mabuti tayo sa ating kapwa (GOLDEN RULE) so that whatever bad intention/s they have for us, we may and we can neutralize the same.

Totoo na, and we know how dirty politics is. For me, it is a case to case basis: "Batu-bato sa langit ang tamaan ay huwag magagalit (pangit). Hindi ko na ito i-elaborate pa dahil I know, kayo man ay well-informed on various updated news with IT in place.

So, sa ating maliit na islang probinsiya, with a populace of more than 229,600 (based on 2007 census) law-abiding citizens, hindi ganoong kadaling maiwawaglit ang anumang negatibong bagay na kaugnay ng pamumulitika. This is brought about by the democratic form of government, kung baga, the government by the people for the people (simple as that). Siyempre pa, based on our own experiences, it somewhat results to the fight usually called "ngipin sa ngipin" or "matira ang matibay". And who are the ones who suffer most of such a consequence? HINDI BA'T ANG MGA ORDINARYONG TAO, ANG MGA MAHIHINA AT WALANG KAKAYAHANG LUMABAN? Result! Nawawala ang tinatawag na people empowerment at ang nangingibabaw ay ang mga malalakas lalo na doon sa mga namumuno dahil they have what others claim na "protection", protection in what sense? Hayaan na lamang natin sila after all, everything in this earth has its own destiny. Ipagpasa-Diyos na lang natin sila. "Kullu napsin tha-iqatul almawt", (Everyone Shall Taste Death).

So, let's go back to where we should be.

Let me, speak or touch about our senior citizens - sila iyong wala na halos inaasahang makaka-suporta sa kanilang mga pangangailangan sa araw-araw. Many of us have gone so far away home, sila iyong malayung-malayo na ang nararating.

This is something that can be compared in a weigh scale, with its pivot point (Marinduque) as the base.

I am, being an OFW for several decades have planned some livelihood projects na maaaring makatulong o makasuporta sa programa ng ating probinsiya o pamahalaan tungkol sa produksiyon at pagpapasagana ng pagkain.

As I have said, there are some simple and very feasible livelihood projects na maaaring masimulan ninuman sa ating mga kanayunan.

Life has to go on, gaano man ito kahirap at alam kong tayong mga Marinduquenos ay masisikap at masisipag. We will not allow anybody to call us, tamad or batugan diba?

There are still a lot of rooms for improvements sa ating mga kanayunan, mga pamayanan at maging sa kabuuhan ng ating probinsiya. At least, sa aming pasimulang-palitan ng mga kuro-kuro, we were able to discuss things that are of paramount importance to establishing and achieving what we call sustainable development sa ating mahal na probinsiya.
In this regard, ang aking target base dito ay ang tinatawag nating "grass-roots level" at sa maaaring pakikipagtulungan o pakikipag-kooperasyon ng Grupong SAKAMAR, we will be able to decipher every angles of any project that would boost or help us in achieving our countryside development.

I am calling as well the attention of Marinduqueno OFWs (retired or presently-based) and/or their immediate families na makipagtulungan sa paglulunsad ng mga Proyektong Pangkabuhayan na makakapagbigay ng karagdagang kita sa ating mga kababayang walang kakayanang makipagsapala-ran sa mga lungsod o sa ibang bansa and to alleviate poverty in our province.

Bong Carrion, DTI Director Carling Fabalena & Staff, DA, Consultant Ret.

My email addresses are: monagren@gmail.com ; monagren@hotmail.com ; mmpcoop@gmail.com

I welcome everyone to write me soon.

MABUHAY TAYONG MGA MARINDUQUENOS!
MABUHAY ANG MARINDUQUE!
GOD BLESS US ALL AND MORE POWER!

Minamahal kong anak,

By Romeo Mataac, Jr.Thursday, October 23, 2008Sulat No comments
Minamahal kong anak,

Medyo mabagal akong mag type ngayon dahil alam kong mabagal kang magbasa.

Love

Love is patient and kind;
Love does not envy or boast;
It is not arrogant or rude.
It does not insist on its own way;
It is not irritable or resentful;
It does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth.
Love bears all things,
believes all things,
hopes all things, endures all things.

Love Ur Neighbor As you Loved Yourself!!!

One story night, there was a child knocking at old woman’s house. The child was very tipsy; the old woman prepared him a milk and known that his name is Howard. The child was very thankful. After several years, the old woman was sick, no one cared for her, when she was admitted to the hospital she’s worried for the bill because she doesn’t have money to pay. After her operation, there’s a short note beside her table, it was the bill she had to pay. The note read “‘D Bill’s paid in just one glass of milk..”

Global Warming

By Romeo Mataac, Jr.Tuesday, October 21, 2008Report No comments
Global Warming

Global warming refers to the increase in the average temperature of the Earth's near-surface air and oceans in recent decades and its projected continuation.

The global average air temperature near the Earth's surface rose 0.74 ± 0.18 °C (1.33 ± 0.32 °F) during the last 100 years. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) concludes, "most of the observed increase in globally averaged temperatures since the mid-20th century is very likely due to the observed increase in anthropogenic greenhouse gas concentrations" via the greenhouse effect. Natural phenomena such as solar variation combined with volcanoes have probably had a small warming effect from pre-industrial times to 1950, but a small cooling effect since 1950. These basic conclusions have been endorsed by at least 30 scientific societies and academies of science, including all of the national academies of science of the major industrialized countries. The American Association of Petroleum Geologists is the only scientific society that officially rejects these conclusions few individual scientists disagree with some of the main conclusions of the IPCC.

An increase in global temperatures is expected to cause other changes, including sea level rise, increased intensity of extreme weather events, and changes in the amount and pattern of precipitation. Other effects include changes in agricultural yields, glacier retreat, species extinctions and increases in the ranges of disease vectors.

Remaining scientific uncertainties include the exact degree of climate change expected in the future, and how changes will vary from region to region around the globe. There is ongoing political and public debate on a world scale regarding what, if any, action should be taken to reduce or reverse future warming or to adapt to its expected consequences. Most national governments have signed and ratified the Kyoto Protocol, aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
Reaction About Global Warming
"An Inconvenient Truth"

Featuring Al Gore, the film is produced by Laurie David, Lawrence Bender and Scott Z. Burns. Jeff Skoll and Davis Guggenheim are the executive producers and the co-producer is Leslie Chilcott.

Humanity is sitting on a ticking time bomb. If the vast majority of the world's scientists are right, we have just ten years to avert a major catastrophe that could send our entire planet into a tail-spin of epic destruction involving extreme weather, floods, droughts, epidemics and killer heat waves beyond anything we have ever experienced.

If that sounds like a recipe for serious gloom and doom -- think again. From director Davis Guggenheim comes the Sundance Film Festival hit, AN INCONVENIENT TRUTH, which offers a passionate and inspirational look at one man's fervent crusade to halt global warming's deadly progress in its tracks by exposing the myths and misconceptions that surround it. That man is former Vice President Al Gore, who, in the wake of defeat in the 2000 election, re-set the course of his life to focus on a last-ditch, all-out effort to help save the planet from irrevocable change. In this eye-opening and poignant portrait of Gore and his "traveling global warming show," Gore also proves himself to be one of the most misunderstood characters in modern American public life. Here he is seen as never before in the media - funny, engaging, open and downright on fire about getting the surprisingly stirring truth about what he calls our "planetary emergency" out to ordinary citizens before it's too late.

With 2005, the worst storm season ever experienced in America just behind us, it seems we may be reaching a tipping point - and Gore pulls no punches in explaining the dire situation. Interspersed with the bracing facts and future predictions is the story of Gore's personal journey: from an idealistic college student who first saw a massive environmental crisis looming; to a young Senator facing a harrowing family tragedy that altered his perspective, to the man who almost became President but instead returned to the most important cause of his life - convinced that there is still time to make a difference.

With wit, smarts and hope, AN INCONVENIENT TRUTH ultimately brings home Gore's persuasive argument that we can no longer afford to view global warming as a political issue - rather, it is the biggest moral challenges facing our global civilization.

Sa aking Anak,

By Romeo Mataac, Jr.Tuesday, October 21, 2008Sulat No comments

pagsasawaang pakinggan.

Amoy matanda, amoy lupa. Huwag mo sana akong piliting maligo. Mahina na ang katawan ko.
Madaling magkasakit kapag nalamigan,

Kapag may konti kang panahon,
magkwentuhan naman tayo, kahit sandali lang. Inip na ako sa bahay, maghapong nag-iisa. Walang kausap.

Tell the World of His Love

For God so loved the world
He gave us Him only Son
Jesus Christ our Savior
His most precious one
He has sent us His message of love
And sends those who hear
To bring the message to everyone
In a voice loud and clear

Let us tell the world of His love
The greatest love the world has known
Search the world for those who have walked
Astray and lead them home
Fill the world's darkest corners
With His light from up above
Walk every step, Every mile, Every road
And tell the world, Tell the world of His love

(Tell the world of His love)
(Tell the world of His love)

Our Lord our savior our king
Emmanuelle prince of peace
Begotten of the Father's love
Born to set us free
Let heaven and earth sing His phrases
His righteousness proclaim
Let every heart rejoice in His love
And magnify His name

Let us tell the world of His love
The greatest love the world has known
Search the world for those who have walked
Astray and lead them home
Fill the world's darkest corners
With His light from up above
Walk every step, Every mile, Every road
And tell the world, Tell the world of His love

(Tell the world of His love)

Let us tell the world of His love
The greatest love the world has known

The Elements of Life

The periodic table of the elements with the most common elements within living cells highlighted.
Click on image for full size ( 14K GIF)
L.Gardiner/Windows to the Universe
Elements make up everything around us including the trees of a forest, your pets, and even YOU!

If you looked at living things with a microscope, you would see that all life is made up of small compartments called cells. Very small life forms, such as bacteria, have only one cell, while large animals have millions. No matter what type of living thing, the cells of every creature are made of atoms of different elements.

The most common elements in a cell are:
Hydrogen (H) 59%
Oxygen (O) 24%
Carbon (C) 11%
Nitrogen (N) 4%
Others such as phosphorus (P) and sulphur (S) 2% combined

But these are not the only elements that have important roles for living things! Plants and animals need a variety of elements to survive and grow.

Some elements that are important for animals (including people) are calcium (Ca), for bones and muscles, chlorine (Cl) for digesting food, fluorine (F) for tooth enamel and iron (Fe) to help blood carry oxygen around the body.

Plants also need elements to survive and grow including magnesium (Mg) and chlorine (Cl) that help plants convert the Sun’s energy into food. Some plants, such as grass, contain silica (Si), which makes them very strong.

To talk about sex, why are we so bored to read a Bible?
Yet so easy to read an FHM or Nude magazine!
Why is it so easy to delete Godly messages?
Yet we forwarded nasty ones!
Why are churches getting smaller?
Yet Bars and Clubs are growing!
Think about it, are we going to forward this later or delete later. If you love Jesus Christ, share this to everyone because God Loves Us.

Keep the flame alive
Burning in our hearts
That we may truly serve
Our God and Country.
Hero’s name we claim
Beloved school so dear
Hand in hand let us move
Onward to greatness, Rizal Tech!

By Romeo Mataac, Jr.Tuesday, October 21, 2008Speech No comments
To our energetic and handsome adviser of Management Society National, Dr. Lemuel L. Magracia. To our very supportive Head of Management Department, Dr. Ester T. Edralin. To the advisers of Junior Business Management Society, Dr. Vicente Camilo T. Mendez III and Prof. Benjie Gonzales. To all faculties, my co-officers, fellow students, ladies and gentlemen, a pleasant morning to all of you.

To day we are celebrating the Annual General Assembly of JBMS with the theme, Leadership Development: Spreading the Substance to its Society wherein the primary purposes are:
to unite the interest of all CBET Students particularly the Management and Office Management Major and;
to promote friendship, camaraderie and fellowship amongst members, officers, faculties and the administration as a whole.

Your organization, JBMS is one of the umbrellas of CBET Student Council. Some organizations under our council are Junior Marketing Association (JMA), Philippine Association of Students in Office Administration (PASOA), and Junior Philippine Institute of Accountancy (JPIA). These organizations are extending their services to its constituents based on their field of specialization. Like for example your organization, JBMS, officers are conducted projects such as trainings and seminars regarding how to manage business in order to maintain it. They invited also some successful entrepreneurs to teach us and share to us how they succeed in their field. Those are some activities and accomplishments that JBMS were done.

In behalf of the CBET Student Council, I salute your organization, especially your president, Mr. Peter Paul de Galicia because all your projects and activities are concerned and focused for the betterment of the CBET Students.

Guys, I will take also this opportunity, to give you some projects and activities that the CBET Student Council were accomplished during our term SY: 2007-2008 because some concern students of CBET are asking, Ano nga ba ang nagawa ng CBET Student Council?

The CBETSC sponsored the Registration Fee of the 6 representatives on the last 2008 Management Society Seminar held at Jose Rizal University Auditorium, Mandaluyong City.
Gave financial assistance to Mr. Dave Jalosjos, a Management Student wherein his right knee was being fractured while practicing basketball for the University Week last year.
We conducted CBET Boot Camp last March 8-9, 2008 with the theme: A Journey Into a New Business Horizon, and some other activities and projects that too many to mention.

Before I end I would like to leave this message stated by the former President of America, John F. Kennedy.

Don’t ask for what the government can do for you.
But asked what you can do for your government.

Once again a wonderful morning to each and everyone.
