First Time in the City of Pines, Baguio

By Romeo Mataac, Jr.Saturday, May 21, 2011Baguio City No comments
I was invited by a friend of mine, Alvin Ismael Ralar Alejandro to attend the seminar of Amway, a networking company in the City of Pines. I don't want actually to join the seminar not because it's a networking rather I'm not much interested to it. I decided to attended because of the seminar's venue, it's Baguio City! I haven't visited Baguio before so it was my first time there.

Si Alvin is my colleague in Development of Bank of the Philippines.

By Romeo Mataac, Jr.Friday, February 11, 2011Events No comments
Our team celebrated its success for being the "Team Player of the Year". The management decided to let the celebration be held outside the company premises. So we ended up in the gazebo of a condominium in Pasay City.

I was one of the organizers of said activity, in-charge in the food preparation.

That activity concluded as successful.

Message during open enrollment season in health insurance

By Romeo Mataac, Jr.Thursday, February 03, 2011Writings No comments

“To be, or not to be: that is the question,
Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer,
The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune,
Or to take arms against a sea of troubles,
And by opposing end them?
... or perchance to dream,
not to sleep, but remain awake to oppose and end our sea of troubles...
-Hamlet's Soliloquy

"Enrollment is Open". These words are often posted on every academic institutions especially during June and September, signifying that the school is in full swing in accepting new students, and making sure that all the record pertaining to enlistment and registration are properly accomplished.

In the year that I spent with this company, particularly with this team that values high performance, I personally have experienced what open enrollment is.

Open Enrollment is the period when the volume of unprocessed applications continues to increase beyond the regular items received each day. Likewise, this is the stage when we render overtime just to trim down hundreds of workloads.

Moreover, this is the season wherein our salary and tax goes up. And indeed, this is the phase when we experience the significance of bayanihan and teamwork. Some undergoes cross training, others allotted additional time and all prays that the volume diminish promptly. These extra efforts and initiatives leads us into a more effective and productive processor of every team equipped with multi tasking ability, company oriented dexterity and high performance delivery towards achieving customer satisfaction and client expectation.
